A CHILLING SMILE

Based on the horror movie Smile, this portrait recreates the final moments of first victim of the smile demon we see in the movie. The unsettling nature of the moment is personified in the unclean and scratching pencil, and the red smile behind the portrait also forms demon horns protruding from her head. The focus was on matching the grimness and and horror present throughout the movie and especially in the smiles seen on many of the characters. Certain features, such as her eyes and cheek wrinkles, were exaggerated to make her appear uncanny and unnatural.
