WHAT REMAINS


I attained the stark red by using a a moon lamp, turning off every other light, and increasing the camera's light sensitivity just enough for the moon lamp to brighten the entire picture.

These images were part of a color study, this one focusing on what a monochromatic color scheme can bring to an image. For the color, I chose red and exploring how red can add a sense of violence to an image. The sight of a black hand mark on a bathroom mirror is already weird enough, but the red immediately adds a sense that something bad happened. And it gets even more unsettling when in the following image, that hand print is now on someone's neck.
